This is primarily the reference list from my book Domestic Violence: Intervention, Prevention, Policies and Solutions . A great many people in the criminal justice system and in fact some in the general public question why the majority of domestic violence intervention, prevention, policies and solutions are based on mid 20th century research and do not reflect contemporary empirical evidence-based studies. I believe that a central reason is that most of the contemporary policy-related research is not being read by our public policy makers. Another reason may be that many domestic violence organizations that once demanded change now resist any change because of their vested financial interest and that they believe they have already discovered the single correct cause and that they are providing the single best program. I invite those who are truly concerned to read the studies [many are hyperlinked for the readers convenience] and decide for themselves.
